Research interests
The research team created in 2019, is interested in the biochemistry, interactions and activities of biomolecules of varied natural origin (plant, fungus, honey and microorganisms) in inflammatory conditions and more particularly in the case of respiratory diseases (asthma and COPD).

Indeed, Dr Mansour-Benamar (malika.benamar@ummto.dz), is interested in finding better conditions for the cultivation and growth of the edible mushroom "Pleurotus ostreatus", and in evaluating the biological activities of its biomolecules. In addition, Prof. Ouelhadj (akli.ouelhadj@ummto.dz), is interested in identifying and characterizing bioactive molecules of biotechnological interest from various sources such as honeys, pollen and aromatic plants from different regions of Algeria. Dr Bouazza (belaid.bouazza@ummto.dz), on the other hand, is interested in the biology and epidemiology of respiratory diseases (asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), before investigating the therapeutic potential (in vitro, in vivo and signalling) of natural biomolecules. Lastly, Prof. Abdellaziz (rachid_abdellaziz@yahoo.fr), who is involved in clinical research into respiratory diseases, brings to the research team an indispensable complementarity in understanding clinical aspects and patient management.
Key words: Biochemistry, Biomolecules, Inflammation, Food plants, Mushrooms, Honeys/pollens, Respiratory diseases, Asthma, COPD.
