The husks of the fruit used as a biosorbent of Methylene Blue. Native and pollutant-laden biosorbents were analyzed by FTIR, SEM, BET, and XRF and showed porous and heterogeneous surfaces. The carboxyl, hydroxyl, carbonyl and phenyl functional groups are reactive and interact with the external surfaces of the biosorbents. Analysis by XRF has revealed Ca and K ion exchanges preferentially with the micropollutants.<\/p>\n<p>Optimized parameters (dosage of adsorbent is 2 g\/L, contact time at equilibrium 60 min and pH 5). The pseudo second-order model showed a good agreement with the experimental data where the correlation coefficients were greater than 0.96 confirming that the MB removal process was driven by the sorption mechanism.<\/p>\n<p>Our results also showed that the Langmuir model better describes the adsorption of methylene blue on <em>Sapindus<\/em> biosorbents and the waste leaves of <em>Thymus and Origanum<\/em> for comparison.The values of the thermodynamic parameters indicated that the biosorption of methylene blue was spontaneous and endothermic with the residues of <em>Origanum and Sapindus<\/em> but exothermic with those of <em>Thymus<\/em>. Under conditions of neutral pH and room temperature, the maximum adsorption capacities reached are 24.2; 33.3 and 41 mg of methylene blue per gram of\u00a0 biosorbent respectively for the pericarp fibers of <em>Sapindus mukorossi, Origanum and Thymus<\/em> The aqueous extract rich in saponins showed a synergy with the biosorbent for the elimination of the dye, this result has been confirmed by FTIR.<\/p>\n<p>For the retention of lead on biosorbents, by atomic absorption spectroscopy, it has been proven that the removal rate of lead has reached almost 100%; this highlights the significant affinity of the metal for the biosorbent (SMPF).<\/p>\n<p>The study of the surface activity of the aqueous extract of fruit pericarps by determining the CMC by conductimetry and by measuring surface tensions; the CMC value is 0.18 g\/ml. The emulsifying activity was also evaluated. The emulsification index for the two <em>Sapindus mukorossi<\/em> solutions, one at CMC and the other above CMC. In comparison with SDS solutions; the extracts showed good emulsifying activity with kerosene and with olive oil compared to SDS. Les \u00e9corses du fruit utilis\u00e9s comme biosorbant du Bleu de M\u00e9thyl\u00e8ne. Les biosorbants natifs et charg\u00e9s en\u00a0 polluants ont \u00e9t\u00e9 analys\u00e9s par FTIR, MEB, BET, et XRF et ont montr\u00e9 des surfaces poreuses et h\u00e9t\u00e9rog\u00e8nes. Les groupements fonctionnels carboxyl, hydroxyl, carbonyl et ph\u00e9nyle\u00a0 sont r\u00e9actifs et interagissent avec les surfaces externes des biosorbants. L\u2019analyse par XRF a mis en \u00e9vidence des \u00e9changes d\u2019ions de Ca et de K pr\u00e9f\u00e9rentiellement avec les micropolluants.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Les param\u00e8tres optimis\u00e9s (dosage de l&rsquo;adsorbant est de 2 g\/L,\u00a0 temps de contact \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9quilibre\u00a0 de 60 min et pH 5).\u00a0 Le mod\u00e8le de pseudo second ordre a montr\u00e9 un bon accord avec les donn\u00e9es exp\u00e9rimentales o\u00f9 les coefficients de corr\u00e9lation \u00e9taient sup\u00e9rieurs \u00e0 0,96\u00a0 confirmant que le processus d&rsquo;\u00e9limination du MB \u00e9tait g\u00e9r\u00e9 par le m\u00e9canisme de sorption.<\/p>\n<p>Nos r\u00e9sultats ont montr\u00e9 aussi que le mod\u00e8le de Langmuir d\u00e9crit mieux l&rsquo;adsorption du bleu de m\u00e9thyl\u00e8ne sur les biosorbants du <em>sapindus<\/em> et les d\u00e9chets de feuilles de <em>Thymus<\/em> et Origanum \u00e0 titre de comparaison<em>.<\/em> Les valeurs des param\u00e8tres thermodynamiques ont indiqu\u00e9 que la biosorption du bleu de m\u00e9thyl\u00e8ne \u00e9tait spontan\u00e9e et endothermique avec les r\u00e9sidus d&rsquo;<em>Origanum<\/em>\u00a0 et de <em>Sapindus<\/em>\u00a0 mais exothermique avec ceux de <em>Thymus<\/em>. Dans des conditions de pH neutre et de temp\u00e9rature ambiante, les capacit\u00e9s d&rsquo;adsorption maximales atteintes sont de 24,2 ; 33,3 et 41 mg de bleu de m\u00e9thyl\u00e8ne par gramme de biosorbant respectivement pour les fibres de p\u00e9ricarpe de <em>Sapindus mukorossi<\/em> , <em>Origanum <\/em>\u00a0et <em>Thymus L<\/em>\u2019extrait aqueux riche en saponines a montr\u00e9 une synergie avec le biosorbant pour l\u2019\u00e9limination du colorant, ce r\u00e9sultat a \u00e9t\u00e9 confirm\u00e9 par FTIR.<\/p>\n<p>Pour la r\u00e9tention des ions Pb(II) sur le biosorbant SMPF, l\u2019\u00e9valuation par spectroscopie d\u2019absorption atomique a montr\u00e9 que le taux d\u2019\u00e9limination des ions Pb<sup>2+<\/sup> a atteint environ 100%. Ceci met en \u00e9vidence l\u2019affinit\u00e9 importante du m\u00e9tal pour ce biosorbant.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019\u00e9tude de l\u2019activit\u00e9 de surface de l\u2019extrait aqueux des p\u00e9ricarpes de fruits par d\u00e9termination de la CMC par conductim\u00e9trie et par mesure des tensions superficielles\u00a0a donn\u00e9 une valeur de la CMC de 0,18 g\/ml.\u00a0 L\u2019activit\u00e9 \u00e9mulsifiante a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9galement \u00e9valu\u00e9e. L\u2019indice d\u2019\u00e9mulsification\u00a0 pour les deux\u00a0 solutions de <em>Sapindus mukorossi<\/em>\u00a0 une \u00e0 la CMC et l\u2019autre a une valeur sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 la CMC. En comparaison avec des\u00a0 solutions de SDS\u00a0; les extraits ont prouv\u00e9\u00a0 une bonne activit\u00e9 \u00e9mulsifiante avec le k\u00e9ros\u00e8ne et avec l\u2019huile d\u2019olive par rapport au SDS.
