En raison de l&rsquo;\u00e9puisement des r\u00e9serves de combustibles fossiles et de l&rsquo;augmentation de la pollution de l&rsquo;environnement, il est absolument imp\u00e9ratif de produire davantage d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie \u00e0 l&rsquo;aide de sources renouvelables. Aujourd&rsquo;hui, les syst\u00e8mes de stockage d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie appropri\u00e9s et la production d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie verte sont plus importants que jamais pour la protection de l&rsquo;environnement et le remplacement des combustibles fossiles. \u00c0 cet \u00e9gard, la photocatalyse h\u00e9t\u00e9rog\u00e8ne et la s\u00e9paration de l&rsquo;eau par voie photo\u00e9lectrochimique (PEC) sont consid\u00e9r\u00e9es comme les m\u00e9thodes les plus int\u00e9ressantes et les plus prometteuses pour r\u00e9colter et convertir directement l&rsquo;\u00e9nergie solaire renouvelable afin de produire une \u00e9nergie verte durable et d&rsquo;\u00e9liminer les polluants organiques. Les nanotubes de dioxyde de titane (TiO2) sont parmi les photocatalyseurs les plus prometteurs. Cependant, certains inconv\u00e9nients entravent leurs applications. De nombreux efforts ont donc \u00e9t\u00e9 consacr\u00e9s au d\u00e9veloppement de photocatalyseurs \u00e0 base de TiNT r\u00e9coltant la lumi\u00e8re visible avec une faible recombinaison des porteurs de charge. Due to the depleting reserves of fossil fuels and increasing environmental pollution, producing more energy using renewable sources is absolutely required. Nowadays, suitable energy storage systems and green energy production are more relevant for environmental protection and fossil fuels replacement than ever. In this respect, heterogeneous photocatalysis and photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting are considered as the most exciting and promising ways to directly harvest and convert renewable solar energy for generating sustainable green energy and eliminating organic pollutants. Titanium dioxide (TiO<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">) nanotubes (TiNT) are ones of the most promising photocatalysts. However, some drawbacks hinder their applications. Much efforts have so been devoted to the development of TiNT visible-light harvesting photocatalysts with a low charge carrier recombination.
