CISCO Netacad: Launch of the first class

The Centre des Systèmes et Réseaux opens enrolment for the first class of training courses in our CISCO Networking academy, officially launched at the second edition of DIGIday. 

This first class is open to the university community of Tizi-Ouzou. Students, teachers and ATS civil servants can take advantage of free training courses in IT fields, at the end of which they can obtain their CISCO certifications, recognized worldwide.

For this first promotion, six training courses are available. The themes are chosen according to the different components of the UMMTO community. All courses are in French and online. Practical sessions can be organized, if required, at the Systems and Networks Centre, where the necessary equipment will be made available to students.

Mastering the basics of digital technology

The digital world is upon us, both personally and professionally. Understanding the Internet, computers and social networks can be a big help. Once you've mastered these skills, a host of opportunities will open up and you'll be able to climb the ladder. Find out how to use a computer, connect devices and access search functions, e-mail and social networks. Take advantage of this very user-friendly, interactive course packed with illustrations. No prior knowledge is necessary for this introductory course.

You will learn these basic skills:

  • Create Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube accounts.
  • Understand computer networks, Internet browsing and searching.
  • Familiarize yourself with Microsoft Windows and how to handle files and folders.

IT Essentials

Everything you need to know about connecting computers to networks

What if you designed a computer and connected it securely to a network? This could be the first step towards a fulfilling IT career. Because to excel in your chosen IT field, you need to learn the basics. The IT Essentials course covers these concepts and introduces you to the professional skills needed for entry-level IT jobs. What's more, you'll be able to work with Cisco Networking Academy's advanced simulation tools and take several hands-on workshops to hone your troubleshooting skills. No prerequisites or IT knowledge required.

You will learn these basic skills:

  • Install, configure and troubleshoot computers and mobile terminals.
  • Identify common threats such as phishing and spoofing.
  • Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills using real equipment and Cisco Packet Tracer.
  • Preparing for CompTIA A+ certification.

It's also an excellent starting point for students aiming for careers as varied as cybersecurity, software development or business. A Networking Academy digital badge is available for this instructor-led course. No prerequisites are required.

You will learn these basic skills:

  • Plan and install a home or SMB network using wireless technologies, and connect it to the Internet.
  • Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills using Cisco Packet Tracer.
  • Practice checking and troubleshooting network and Internet connectivity.
  • Identify and prevent threats to a local network.

IoT Fundamentals: Connecting Things

From washing machines to jet engines

Today, virtually any object can be connected to the Internet: from washing machines to the sophisticated components of an aircraft engine, to biological beings such as cows and crops. The ability to connect objects and collect useful data is disrupting businesses in all sectors, and paving the way for new professional specializations. Discover the basics of this exciting new field through fun, hands-on activities in which you will securely connect sensors to cloud services via IP networks and collect data in an end-to-end IoT (Internet of Things) system. A basic knowledge of programming (such as PCAP: Programming Essentials in Python), network technology and electronics is recommended.

You will learn these basic skills:

  • Discover how IoT brings IT systems and operational technologies closer together.
  • Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills using real equipment and Cisco Packet Tracer.

CCNA v7: Introduction to Networks

The first step towards a career in networks

This first part of the three-part CCNA series introduces network architectures, models, protocols and elements. These are all areas you need to know to support the operations and priorities of Fortune 500 companies as well as those of innovative small businesses. You'll even have the chance to create simple local area networks (LANs) yourself. By acquiring practical knowledge of IP addressing schemes and basic network security functions, you'll be able to perform basic router and switch configuration. No prerequisites are required. Once you've completed all three CCNA courses, you're ready to take the CCNA certification.

The equipment needed for the Labs is available from the Systems and Networks Center. This training will open the door to CCNA levels 2 and 3.

You will learn these basic skills:

  • Create simple LAN networks, perform basic router and switch configurations and implement IPv4 and IPv6 addressing schemes.
  • Configure routers, switches and terminals to provide access to local and remote network resources and enable end-to-end connectivity between remote devices.
  • Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills using real equipment and Cisco Packet Tracer.
  • Configure and troubleshoot small network connectivity using best security practices.

To avoid failure, it's important to choose your training according to your profile and the knowledge you've already acquired. Once you've successfully obtained your first certification, you'll be able to move up to the next level in the next promotion. 

Registrations are open from 25/12/2023 to 14/01/2024 inclusive.
