Today, Thursday June 01, 2023, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Kamel Baddari, and the Minister of the Knowledge Economy, Start-ups and Micro-enterprises, Mr. Yacine El Mahdi Oualid, paid a working visit to the Mouloud Mammeri University in Tizi-Ouzou.
The visit was an opportunity for the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research to enquire about UMMTO's progress on several projects in its program, including digitization, the paperless project, support for students in creating start-ups and innovative projects, teaching in English...
A step-by-step tour
At around 09:30, the university's Rector, Prof. Ahmed Bouda, and his senior staff welcomed the two Ministers, the Wali and their delegations, members of the Tizi-Ouzou APW, members of parliament, and the local and national press to the Hasnaoua 2 campus to begin the working visit.
Scanning
The whole delegation first visited the Centre des Systèmes et Réseaux et du télé-enseignement, where the department's engineers presented the platforms developed, as well as the rooms and equipment set up for the benefit of the university community within the framework of distance learning and digital technology.
Language teaching
The two Ministers and their delegations then visited the Center for Intensive Language Instruction (CEIL), where they met the heads of the department and the teachers involved in language teaching. The head of CEIL presented his work plan and the center's development projects.
Start-ups and innovative projects
The visit continued to the central library and then to the technology hall, where the Ministers met students with innovative and start-up projects. They took time to understand all the projects on display and to answer questions from the students present.
Tamda computer network
At around 3:00 pm, the two Ministers and their delegations visited the Tamda campus to officially launch work on the Internet / Intranet network. The head of the Centre des Systèmes et Réseaux gave a presentation of the project on screen, before the Minister of Higher Education officially declared the launch of the work by pressing a button.
3000 PP construction site
Lastly, the Ministers visited the construction site for the 3,000 teaching places at Tamda, where they were able to see that work was at an advanced stage and that only a short time remained before handover.
This rich visit ended around 5pm at the Tamda 3 university residence.
