Laboratory history:
The Laboratoire de Géomatériaux, Environnement et Aménagement (LGEA) is a young laboratory, created in 2002 by grouping together four (04) existing CNEPRU research project teams. Since its creation, the LGEA has operated with 04 teams and was directed by Professor Bahar Ramdane until 2013. Since 2013, Professor Melbouci Bachir has been the new director.
The Laboratory has a qualified scientific research staff and extensive conventional equipment. Initial staff numbers are 20: 02 Senior Lecturers, 01 Senior Researcher, 17 Assistant Professors, 07 of whom are enrolled in doctorate or state doctorate programs. Today, the Laboratory has a staff of 42: 20 full professors and associate professors (05 Professors, 02 Associate Research Directors, 02 Senior Lecturers, 04 Senior Lecturers, 07 Assistant Lecturers enrolled in doctoral programs), 02 support staff (01 engineer and 01 secretary) and 25 doctoral students. The majority of these lecturers are involved in teaching activities in the various courses offered by the Civil Engineering Department of the Faculty of Construction Engineering at the Université Mouloud Mammeri de Tizi-Ouzou.
